Rachel Shubin lives in Cape May, New Jersey. She works full-time as the content marketing coordinator for the Cape May County Herald Newspaper. She also writes a freelance book review column for Cape May Magazine.
Rachel’s previous work experience includes a year and a half of freelancing for the Cape May Star and Wave Newspaper. Her beat was municipal meetings, human interest and a multiple article series featuring millennials. She also has two years at the front desk of the Victorian Motel under her belt.
Rachel graduated cum laude from George Mason University in 2016 with a B.S. in communications and a concentration in journalism.
Rachel also currently writes Sandpiper Cat Blog. She is an associate member of the Cat Writers’ Association.
Rachel wrote for IV Estate, George Mason University’s student newspaper. Rachel was a contributing editor to Tote Magazine. Rachel has worked closely with Cape May Magazine, since 2013.
Rachel was a marketing associate for The Admiral’s Daughter by Beth Jannery.
Rachel previously wrote for the W.T. Woodson Cavalcade (4 years), CWA Meow Newsletter, The Fairfax Patch, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation newsletter and The Pennant Magazine.
Rachel currently volunteers with Animal Outreach of Cape May County and has previously worked with Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation.
